Our founder, John Olivieri (1956-1999), started our company designing beach houses on a drafting board in his garage. As more commissions came, the firm grew into offices in Cherry Hill and later Collingswood. Joined by partners Paul Kiss in 1986 and Dan Shousky in 1987, John evolved the firm into a regionally well known group with areas of expertise in shore and vacation homes, country estates, historic restorations and individually designed customized commercial work in banks, office buildings, and car dealerships. John imbued in all of us a sense of integrity, good design and commitment to our clientele, which insured a loyal following and corporate culture that remains strong today. John passed away at the age of 43 after a long bout with cancer.

Continuing into the late 1980s and early 1990s, the firm grew to a total of almost 40 people. We were working on a variety of residential and commercial projects and developments. Into the early 90s, the firm went through a realignment to concentrate more so on high-end residential design. Throughout the 90s we continued to expand our areas of experience and expertise designing a wide variety of homes of all sizes and styles, and also continuing to build on our knowledge of automobile dealership, banks, office buildings, etc.

In the early 2000s, the dramatic upswing in the value of real estate allowed our clients the opportunity to ask us to design ever more refined and detailed residences. Along with this growth came an increase in the multi-family market, which allowed our commercial division to become involved in many more townhouse and condominium developments, master plans, as well as continuing with the core areas of automobile dealerships, banks and offices.

 

OSK has successfully completed commercial, industrial, institutional, multi-family and single family residential projects in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Delaware, Maryland, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, North Carolina, South Carolina, West Virginia, Wisconsin, the Bahamas and the Virgin Islands. We have earned a reputation for providing high quality design services, attentive client service, coordination of project team efforts and project leadership. A number of our projects have received recognition and awards from various groups involved in the industry. We stress communication and co-operation between disciplines and project team members as the most effective way of keeping everyone involved in the project and working towards fulfillment of the project’s goals.
